John co-founded and was the former CTO of WHOOP, Inc where he developed innovative technologies for wearable health and performance monitoring. He recruited, managed, and led the technical organizations that created novel algorithms and hardware to help understand people’s Strain, Recovery, and Sleep and give recommendations to optimize their performance.
John’s interest in science and technology started at a young age. He worked on astrophysics research projects, won 6th place in the Intel (now Regeneron) Science Talent Search, and studied computer science and astrophysics at Harvard University before dropping out his sophomore year to start WHOOP. His father and grandfather are professors in Anatomy and Physiology which fuelled his passion for utilizing technology to help people understand their bodies and prevent disease.
John shares his passion for and experience with early-stage startups advising and investing in numerous companies utilizing science and technology to bring advancements to market. He lives in Boston, MA with his wife Emily, and their dog Baci.
