Mechanical Engineering Intern – Hardware EngineeringSharanya is entering her final year of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering at McMaster University in Hamilton. Driven by a passion for innovation in healthcare, she is eager to apply her creativity and engineering skills to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients around the world. She has completed three previous internships, with her most recent role as an R&D Engineering Associate at Baylis Med Tech, where she contributed to the development of minimally invasive medical devices. She is excited to further her impact in the medical field and gain hands-on experience by joining the team at Synex Medical for her final co-op term!
Outside of work, Sharanya is an advocate for women in STEM, striving for diversity and inclusion. As a leader in the McMaster Women in Engineering Society, she has been responsible for securing sponsorships and organizing workshops that provide professional development opportunities for fellow woman-identifying peers. In her free time, she enjoys calligraphy, drawing, painting, and experimenting with digital art.
