Staff Electrical Engineer
The Basics
- This is a full-time position.
- This is a hybrid position. We’ll need you to come into our downtown Toronto office to support design bring-ups, development testing, and other in-person needs, but you won’t need to come in everyday.
- Work hours are flexible, but meetings are typically scheduled between 9 am and 5 pm Eastern Standard Time.
- The salary range for this position is $170,000 - $190,000 annually.

In this role, you'll be expected to:
- Develop the console subsystem (similar to SDR architecture) that integrates the FPGA, microcontroller, and peripherals (DACs, ADCs, amplifiers, and communication protocols).
- Collaborate with FPGA and embedded teams to define and validate console functionality.
- Design analog circuits (filters, amplifiers) to meet SNR, stability, and accuracy targets.
- Support technical investigations on pathfinding projects.
You might be right for this role if:
- Communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Effectively work with vendors and contractors on development, builds, and troubleshooting.
- Like to mentor junior engineers and engage in knowledge sharing.
- Have extensive experience with FPGAs, microcontrollers, and digital data flow.
- Have expertise in analog design, low noise digital design, and DAC/ADC optimization for SNR.
- Have a strong grasp of electrical first principles.
