Martin Gajdošík

Martin studied biomedical physics in Bratislava, in his home country of Slovakia. His diploma thesis written in 2010 with the title “Comparison of shimming methods in vivo NMR spectroscopy” introduced him to the world of magnetic resonance. Martin continued in MR research at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria (Programme Medical Physics). His research was motivated by liver pathologies, human metabolism and application of MR methods on ultra-high field 7 T MR system. Results were concluded in his doctoral thesis "Multinuclear metabolic MR spectroscopy of the liver" in 2016. Later he joined the Center for Biomedical Imaging at NYU Langone in New York City as a postdoctoral fellow, where he focused on brain MR spectroscopy and sodium MRI. In September 2018 Martin joined the MR SCIENCE laboratory at Columbia University as a postdoctoral research scientist and later as an associate research scientist. Here he improved methods for measurements and analysis of brain metabolites at clinical MR systems. During his Ph.D. studies and postdoctoral training, Martin managed multidisciplinary projects and diverse teams, as demonstrated by collaboratively produced 20+ publications and a $20K research grant award. Currently, Martin's focus is on innovative applications of NMR methods at Synex Medical.
