Ashley Bemis

Ashley’s professional journey began in radio astronomy, where she earned her Ph.D. in Astrophysics from McMaster University. As a researcher, she spent years deciphering faint molecular signals buried in cosmic noise, transforming vast datasets from distant galaxies into insights about how stars are born. Her postdoctoral work at the Waterloo Centre for Astrophysics and prior role as a support scientist at Leiden Observatory in the Netherlands gave her deep, hands-on experience managing the entire data lifecycle, from raw signal processing to uncovering subtle patterns in complex data.

At Synex Medical, Ashley brings her expertise in signal processing and data analysis to a new frontier. Swapping telescopes for biosensors, she is excited to help decode the signals of the human body and advance non-invasive health monitoring technology.

Outside of work, Ashley enjoys running, CrossFit, hiking, and spending time with her family.
