James Roth
Software Engineering Coop – Software EngineeringJames is a rising senior studying Computer Science at Northeastern University in Boston. His passion for Computer Science began early in life, growing up with a basement full of 80’s arcade machines and writing graph search algorithms for fun. He’s inspired to create amazing software from a parent in the industry, a love of video games, and a belief in a better future for all people. James has two previous coops under his belt: at Abbott Laboratories working on heart pump testing software and at Wood Mackenzie in the big data world. He is excited to be a part of the team at Synex Medical in his third and final coop at Northeastern.
In his time away from the computer, James is an avid outdoorsman, lifter, science fiction fan, and dog parent (currently aspiring). He has a black lab and a chocolate lab at home in small-town New Hampshire, plus a closetful of backpacking gear. His favorite place in the US would have to be Yosemite Valley for all of its mountains, trails, sun, and views. He looks forward to the day he can make it to the top of Half Dome, and dreams wistfully of more hiking in the mountains for the meantime.
